About Trustpower

Trustpower’s roots stretch back almost 100 years and we’re proud to see how much we've grown and achieved in that time. We’re one of the largest companies on the NZX and with our brand new head office in the sunny Bay of Plenty, you can swim, surf, or stroll along the beach before or after work. Our second largest office is in the Steampunk Capital of New Zealand, also known as #gigatown and famous for its beautiful stone... Oamaru!

Other offices are dotted from the far north to the deep south, with power stations and hydro schemes in the most stunning locations in New Zealand.

Our offices are designed around the concept of Activity Based Working (ABW); a creative way of working which promotes flexibility and enables collaboration. The layout is open plan with lots of cool areas to work in, so there’s no “tied to the desk” attitude in our workplace.

Fostering Talent

Our Graduate Programme

We believe that everyone's career path is "bespoke", which is why we have a graduate programme which is just that... customised to meet our graduates individual needs, as well as our businesses.

During the two year programme, graduates rotate through various teams within their department. They also undertake an overarching project that provides a clear line of sight to business strategy and how their work impacts Trustpower's goals. Despite being a two year programme, all graduates are permanent employees and at the end of the programme they can apply for a role anywhere in the business.

Our Young Professionals Network

To further support our emerging talent, we also have a Young Professionals network. YoPros offers all of our young professionals the opportunity to get to know each other, learn from internal or external speakers, connect and collaborate at events throughout the year.

Recruitment Process

We want our recruitment process to be as easy and supportive for you as possible. The image below gives a simple outline of Trustpower's procedure to recruit new employees.

Our pre-employment assessments assist us in selecting and developing high performing staff. They enable us to see whether you would be a great fit with Trustpower and the role you’ve applied for. Assessments can include verbal, numerical and logical reasoning, as well as a personality profile.

Please note: Depending on the role you are applying for, there may be additional steps in this process (an initial phone interview, for example).
