Retrieving Data

Because so many volunteers do such good for communities and environments, the Trustpower Community Awards programme celebrates and rewards that tireless effort. The pages below look a little closer at our community involvement. Most of all, they show the remarkable strength within the communities themselves.

Out and about in the community

You’ll often see Trustpower out supporting local community events and projects. Trustpower has donated 30 cars to community groups around New Zealand and we’re principal sponsors of the Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter, based in Tauranga. We have a marquee in the North Island and another in the South Island, available free for community events. Community involvement is ingrained into our culture and Trustpower staff help out at everything from collecting for Hospice or Foodbank, to digging in at local planting days.

Lend A Hand Foundation

The Trustpower Lend A Hand Foundation does exactly that — giving a hand to local charities, organisations, schools and individuals when they need it most. Support can be with funding, or in mentoring, goods or services. The Foundation is a partnership with Rotary Clubs and the Malcam Charitable Trust. Many businesses donate money, goods or services, enabling the Foundation to support communities around Dunedin, the West Coast, Central Otago, Wairoa, and Snowtown.

Community Awards

Trustpower has been recognising and rewarding volunteers from around New Zealand for over 25 years and we’ve loved every moment, but it’s time for a change….

Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter

The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter and its expert crews have helped save the lives of hundreds of people suffering serious illness or injury. Day and night, the Rescue Helicopter takes off on hundreds of missions a year, including air ambulance flights, Hospital transfers and frequently dramatic search and rescue work. From the special hangar at Tauranga Hospital, the Rescue Helicopter serves communities across the Bay of Plenty, always at the most critical of times.

Heartland Community Fund

Since the takeover of King Country Energy in 2018, Trustpower are proud to continue to support the Heartland Community Fund – now called the Trustpower Heartland Community Fund. This fund supports local community groups, clubs and organisations with projects and initiatives that create safer, healthier, sustainable and connected communities in the King Country and beyond.
