Trustpower confirms that Mighty River Power’s metering business Metrix has advised they intend not to deliver the services (which were due to commence in early 2016) contemplated by the national metering services contract it entered into with Trustpower in July 2014.
Trustpower understands that Mighty River Power has determined that Metrix is unable to meet its contractual expectations within the agreed timeframe.
Trustpower General Manager Business Solutions & Technology, Simon Clarke said that while Trustpower is extremely disappointed, it was better that Metrix advised Trustpower of its position now and well before the services had commenced.
Trustpower has made significant progress with system development and this is now an opportunity to reconsider its approach to smart meter deployment and metering services.
