The location of the Palmer Wind Farm was chosen due to it close proximity to the electrical grid, geographic isolation and the excellent wind energy potential.
Rodney Ahern, Trustpower Business Development Manager

The proposed project will include up to 130 turbines connected by underground and overhead electrical cables to possibly two on-site sub stations.

Rodney Ahern, Trustpower Business Development manager said the location of the Palmer Wind Farm was chosen due to it close proximity to the electrical grid, geographic isolation and the excellent wind energy potential.

Still in the early development stage Trustpower is investigating the potential for the wind farm on the ranges between the settlements of Palmer, Tungkillo and Sanderston and welcomes the community input to help shape the feasibility and ultimate design of the potential wind farm.

The community information day will be held on Wednesday, October 16 at Collier Park Pavilion Mannum on Adelaide Road, Palmer from 11am until 8pm.

Trustpower will hold further information sessions on Friday, November 1 and Saturday, November 2, and again in early December for those who cannot attend Wednesday’s information day.
