A big thanks must go to those community members who have taken the time to enter these fabulous 35 groups for the Awards – I am certainly looking forward to this year’s celebration.
The TrustPower Queenstown Lakes District Community Awards recognise and reward volunteers for the outstanding contribution they make to their local community. The Awards are run in conjunction with the Queenstown Lakes District Council.
TrustPower Community Relations Representative Jess Somerville is absolutely delighted at the level of support for this year’s TrustPower Community Awards.
“The Queenstown Lakes District community is driven by voluntary groups and organisations and to have the opportunity to recognise and celebrate so many of these unsung heroes through this year’s TrustPower Community Awards is just wonderful!
“A big thanks must go to those community members who have taken the time to enter these fabulous 35 groups for the Awards – I am certainly looking forward to this year’s celebration” says Miss Somerville.
The Awards cover five categories; Heritage and Environment, Health and Wellbeing, Arts and Culture, Sport and Leisure, and Education and Child/Youth Development. The category winners receive $500 and runners-up receive $250. The Supreme Winner will take home $1,500, a trophy, framed certificate and an all-expenses paid trip to the TrustPower National Community Awards, being held in the Far North district in March 2013.
