The plant consists of three separate units: 2 x 6 MW units (Units 3 and 4) upgraded in 2002 (Boving and Co horizontal dual Francis, 45m net head) and a new 16 MW unit (Unit 5 - Alstom vertical Francis, 49m net head) also installed in 2002. Units 1 and 2 were decommissioned following a flood in 1974.

Power is transmitted to the National Electricity Market (NEM) via a connection to the Tumut to Yass 132kV transmission line.
