Kaiwera Downs Resource Consent 

On the 5th of November 2007 TrustPower submitted an application for resource consents to the Gore District Council and Environment Southland for a new Wind Farm 15km southeast of Gore in the Southland region.

A resource consent hearing was held in April 2008 in Gore and the resource consents were granted in June 2008. The consent was appealed by the Uplands Protection Society however that appeal was withdrawn in February 2009, paving the way for the development to proceed.
