We are a power company that believes in being involved in the communities where we operate, where our customers live, work, bring up their children and run businesses.

We sponsor many events and organisations throughout the country, such as sponosrship of cars for community groups, educational initiatives and art and culture events. We always send our staff to events we sponsor to ensure they understand our communities as well.

TrustPower has developed our prestigious TrustPower Community Awards, our biggest community sponsorship, which are now held in 24 regions around New Zealand. These Community Awards, run in conjunction with City and District Councils, thank volunteers for the hard work they do to make our communities a better place, they recognise the achievements of voluntary organisations, which really are the lifeblood of our communities.

In 2010, TrustPower has partnered with TVNZ6 to bring remarkable stories of volunteers all over the country in a new series called 'Volunteer Power'. Regional Winners at each TrustPower Community Awards throughout New Zealand will be filmed by the TVNZ6 crew and shown on TVNZ6. Volunteer Power, presented by Julia Wright and Jim Mora will tell the stories of visionary and award-winning projects operating in kiwi communities.
